You know that relief you get when you finish a school paper and get to close all your research tabs? I found the artist equivalent. It's when you finally work out that really difficult piece of anatomy/perspective and get to close out your 12+ reference pictures. I can't draw vertebrae(red vertebrae columns are traces to help me understand the form. Red skull and blue vertebra are my own drawings). My brain refuses to understand the shapes. Nine total reference picturess just to get Raku's fucking spine drawn correctly. I hope to be able to close out all those references by the end of the day. At least my desire to draw bones outweighs how difficult it is to draw bones and it can't stay this difficult forever if I keep doing it right?

This has been by far, the worst year for me art wise in a very long time. Haven't finished a painting since January, have barely even opened photoshop to paint. In part the reason; At the start of the year, there were only 3 boxes up there. My rats, Tiberius and Drek, and ferret Affliction. Since the start of January I've said goodbye to 4 more ferrets. Of those 4, 3 were lost in the last 6 weeks. I previously spoke about losing Mayhem to lymphoma right before his 5th birthday. Discord's passing in June hurt, but was expected as she was over 8 years old and also battling lymphoma. Stolas' was unexpected, sudden, and soul crushing. Bladder stones likely caused by diet from his previous owners, or just bad genetics, that caused a blockage. He didn't make it through surgery. He was only a 1.5 years old. A couple nights ago we finally took Calamity in to be put down. We should have done so weeks ago, but with everything going on, I kept putting it off. She was 7.5 years old and hadn't
